Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Release

03-Nov-2010 Every year the CFACDL conducts a poll requesting attorneys who practice criminal law, both defense and prosecutors, to provide their opinions on judges with whom they are familiar. The poll asks opinions on Legal Knowledge, Impartiality, Freedom from Bias, Demeanor and Diligence. This year’s poll was conducted solely on-line and garnered one of the largest responses in the poll’s history.
In addition to providing their opinions on the above listed areas using a scale from 1-5 (5 being the most favorable rating), the poll also allows practitioners to voice a comment on any judge. According to Chad Cronon, President of CFACDL, "The Annual Judicial Poll conducted by the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers is of great value to judges, practitioners of criminal law, and the members of the public in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. The Judicial Poll allows both prosecutors and defense attorneys to provide feedback regarding the attorney’s perception of the various judges he or she practices before in those counties. The Judicial Poll addresses several categories that can be used to gauge the performance of the judges. CFACDL intends and hopes that the information contained in the Judicial Poll is helpful to the public, the judiciary, the attorneys who participated in the poll, and all the attorneys that practice criminal law in Central Florida."
