Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Our Veterans

Please join us at our next CLE on November 18, 2015, as we take a look at the issues revolving around PTSD that is affecting many of our nation’s veterans.  Dr. Sandra Neer will be speaking with regards to her studies on this issue, including different therapy methods, and a comprehensive discussion on causes and symptoms.

Dr. Neer joined the faculty of UCF as Research Assistant Professor in January, 2011 in the Clinical Ph.D. program and as the Project Coordinator for the Trauma Management Therapy Program for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. Dr. Neer received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Louisiana State University in 1990. She completed her internship and post-doctoral work at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, University of Pittsburgh. She has been a member of the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh as well as the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Neer has published a number of scholarly journal articles and book chapters. Her clinical research interests have included anxiety disorders, eating disorders and psychophysiological measurement. Dr. Neer is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. She supervises graduate students in individual and group behavior therapy.
