What is human trafficking? Did you know that Florida is one of the top three states as a destination for trafficked persons? Florida, and Orlando in particular, is a hotspot for human trafficking because of its large immigrant population, tourism, and agricultural industry. Jim Seay, a partner at Holland & Knight and a member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force, will present on this hot-button issue that impacts our Central Florida community. He will also discuss what lawyers can do to help and provide information that we as criminal defense lawyers can use to identify our clients that may be victims of human trafficking and what resources are available in our community to assist them.
Our monthly luncheon is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new members.
We look forward to seeing you there!
