Oct. 4th Implicit Bias in Jury Selection

We have a great event just around the corner on October 4, 2019, here at the Orlando Federal Courthouse in the Jury Assembly Room from 2:30pm to 5:00pm (see flyer attached).

 

Implicit Bias in Jury Selection– The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) Diversity & Inclusion Committee, OCBA Criminal Law Committee, Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (CFACDL), and Paul C. Perkins Bar Association are teaming up to present this exciting insight into jury selection.

 

The seminar will explore the science and psychology aspect of implicit bias and the practical aspect of identifying and effectively dealing with bias in jury selection.

 

2.5 CLE credits have been applied for and are pending.

 

Additionally, one of our own, AFPD Karla Reyes, will be working with the OCBA Diversity & Inclusion Committee Chair regarding her knowledge and experience managing implicit bias in jury selection in federal criminal cases. Karla will be assisting the committee to improve and build on their upcoming presentation and future implicit bias seminars.
